MTARS Repeaters

All MTARS repeaters are open to all amateur radio operators.

The Middle Tennessee Amateur Radio Society is composed of Hams in Middle Tennessee who are dedicated to promoting amateur radio, providing public service communications and having fun doing so. Anyone interested in Amateur radio is welcome to join us.

W4UOT Repeater - Hillsboro, TN 146.70 MHz, -600 KHz offset, CTCSS/PL 114.8Hz Placed into full time operation at current location in 1972. Location: About 5 miles ESE of Hillsboro at the Cumberland Mountain Sand Company. 35 degrees 22.95 minutes N Latitude 85 degrees 53.67 minutes W Longitude Tower: 108 feet tall, base at 1912 feet MSL. Antennas: DB Products DB-224e 9dBd at 85 ft. pointed west Celwave 9 dBd gain at 110 feet Repeater: Kenwood TKR-750K2 Repeater User Commands 11 - normal beep (triple dual-tone beep) (response "friendly") 12 - net beep (800 Hz, 700Hz) 2 tone beep (response "Net") 13 - emergency beep (2 dual-tone beeps) 14 - sets courtesy message to 800 Hz CW sends letters WX (short for weather) 15 - sends LitZ (touch tone 0 for 5 seconds) 30 - send initial id messages 31 - send id 1 32 - send id 2 33 - send id 3 34 - send id 4 35 - send CW id message 501 - current outside temperature at the repeater site, high and low since midnight. 502 - current temperature inside the repeater trailer, high and low sincemidnight. 503 - check status of trailer door. (door open or closed and time of last change) 504 - power supply current, high and low voltage readings. 81 - DVR Audio Test (records and plays back next transmission up to 8 seconds) 82TT - touch tone test (enter 82 + DTMF String, repeater responds with decoded digits) 83 - speak current time and date AutoPatch Functions: * nnnnnnn - dial autopatch number nn *** - extend autopatch timer # - disconnect autopatch (automatic disconnect if phone line hang-up detected) 911 - dial coffee county Comm Center (728-9555) 912 - dials Franklin County Comm Center (967-3849) *long distance 914 - dials Moore County Comm Center (759-7323) *long distance 922 - dials T.H.P. in Chattanooga (423-821-5151) W4UOT/R Repeater Winchester, TN 146.82 MHz, -600 KHz offset, CTCSS/PL 114.8 Placed into operation in 1962. Location: About 6 miles south of Winchester at Keith Springs Fire Department. 35 degrees 6.06 minutes N Latitude 86 degrees 7.40 minutes W Longitude Tower: 115 feet tall, base at 1800 feet MSL. Antenna: Phelps Dodge 6 db gain at 90 feet (1890 feet MSL) Side mounted on arms pointing 295 degrees. Repeater: GE Master II running 80 watts to the antenna.
